It`s been a classic summer of sport across the world and the action is set to continue with many great events lined up over the next few weeks.
In golf, Rory McIlroy finally confirmed his huge potential with a stunning victory in the US Open at Congressional. The young Northern Irishman set a whole host of records on the way to a huge 6 shot victory which silenced his critics who labelled him a `choker` after his last round disaster in the US Masters.
McIlroy now moves forward to the British Open in July full of confidence and if he maintains that form, then no-one can touch him.
In tennis, Wimbledon fortnight reaches its climax and once again, British tennis fans are wondering whether this could finally be the year when we see Andy Murray lift the men`s crown. We`ve all been here before many times but you feel that the Scot has a Grand Slam in him and this could be his time.
It`s impossible to ignore football at any time of the year and without a World Cup or European Championship to enjoy, attention turned to the CONCACAF Gold Cup where the USA and Mexico played out a truly thrilling final.
